My kids have been obsessed with Ripley's Believe it or Not! ever since we visited a museum several years ago. Ripley's is great for all things weird and they come out with an annual book and this year's book, Dare to Look, is available for that kid (or adult for that matter) on your list who loves odd and strange record breakers. This title offers thousands of true-yet-unbelievable facts and stories, as well as hundreds of full-color photos. Review: These books never disappoint. I have enjoyed record books since I was a child so I enjoyed looking through this book just as much as my children enjoyed it. The pictures or striking (and sometimes very gross) and I love the way the book is organized. Each page visually grabs you and draws you into the descriptions because you just have to know more!
The book alone is fabulous, but the experience is enhanced even further by the oddSCAN feature. By just downloading the free app on my iPad, we got to further enjoy the strangeness that is Ripley's. The app allowed some of the people and animals, such as the body art man and a dog with a record breaking tongue length come to life. My kids were absolutely thrilled to add this edition to their collection!
