I am certainly grateful for digital cameras. Do you remember the days when you would have to pose for picture after picture with the hopes that one of the photos would turn out with great lighting and everyone smiling/not closing their eyes? Digital cameras are great, but they aren't perfect. The biggest complaint I have about my digital camera is that lighting in the room often negatively affects the picture.
With the holidays right around the corner you will probably be taking a lot of pictures. Taking indoor pictures with smartphones and cameras can be very tricky thanks to red eye, harsh shadows, and even direct light from the camera's own flash. The Lightscoop is a camera accessory that you slip onto your camera. It bounces the light from the flash up to the ceiling or wall just like professionals to with their expensive accessories. As a result, your indoor pics will look just as great as pictures taken outside. The Lightscoop is available as a Deluxe version for more professional types of cameras and as a Lightscoop Jr for compact cameras.
Review: Attaching the Lightscoop to my digital camera was very easy which I really appreciated! It took me a little while to get used to the look of the pictures with the Lightscoop because I was so accustomed to the unnatural look that the flash produces that I was not used to the more natural hues and colors of my house and surroundings. When I first showed my husband the picture of our Boxer, Butch, below, I told him that the colors did not look right with the Lightscoop but then he held my digital camera to the floor and I realized that it perfectly captured the true colors. I was very happy that the Lightscoop eliminated the glare in Butch's eyes.
I had to play around with the positioning of the Lightscoop a bit and finally found the perfect placement for it. I was concerned that my camera's flash was not powerful enough for it to reach the ceiling, but my husband told me that he could see the light bounce off the ceiling when I was snapping pictures. Once I got the positioning right, I could really see the benefits of the accessory. Here is a great example of how the Lightscoop picks up all of the background rather than just what is in the foreground. The first picture if of my Bulldog, Buttercup. You can hardly even notice Butch in the background but can see him clear
as day with the Lightscoop!
