Crazy Dog T-shirts Review: My husband loves sarcastic shirts so I got him "Sorry I Called You an Idiot, I Thought You Already Knew". He loved the saying and I was pleased that it was not as inappropriate as some of his shirts.  The shirt is in two shades of blue but the light blue lettering shows up nicely against the navy shirt. The cotton is soft and it kept its shape and color quite nicely after washing. It did not shrink significantly after wash which is always a bonus. The shirt was true to size and he reports that it is comfortable.  I was very impressed with the variety of shirt offerings through Crazy Dog T-shirts. If you or someone you love likes to wear t-shirts, then I would definitely recommend checking them out. Since most of their shirts are $20 and under, you can't go wrong!

Teriyaki Dried Beef Sirloin with Pineapples: Marinated in a balanced teriyaki sauce of garlic, ginger, and soy lean natural beef sirloin has a tangy, yet smooth flavor complimented with the sweetness of pineapple.
      Review: I thought my husband may enjoy this one, but he was not a fan of the added sweetness. He likes his jerky pure, but I found this one to be quite delicious.  The sweetness of the pineapple help cut down the tanginess of the beef . 

Dried Beef Sirloin with Apples and Cherries
     Review: Wow. Seriously, this was delicious. I loved the combination of the beef with the fruit. I am not a huge fan of beef, but this was very tasty. The tangy flavor was there but the apples and cherries blended nicely.

Dried Beef Sirloin with Cranberries & Blueberries: Made with lean, natural beef sirloin and added cranberries and blueberries.
     Review: This was my favorite of all. It contained whole berries and was extremely flavorful. I was surprised that one of the beef varieties ended up being a favorite but it really was. I would definitely buy these again!

Teriyaki Dried Chicken Breast with Mangoes and Papayas: Golden brown, lean, natural roasted chicken breast meat flecked with rich spices and colorful mango and papaya chunks.
      Review: This variety was very tasty. It had a little kick but the fruits helped neutralize it a bit. I actually really enjoyed it and would eat it again.

Dried Chicken Breast with Black Bean Salsa: A bold blend of chicken breast meat, spicy peppers, black beans, and tomatoes with a hint of smoky, slow-roasted flavor.

Review: Spice is just not my thing so I gave this one to my husband. He said he liked the flavor, but prefers the flavor of classic beef jerky. He said there was a kick to it and there was definitely a lot of flavor.

Dried Chicken Breast with Italian Style Seasoning and Romano Cheese: A combination of Italian seasoned chicken breast met, roasted red peppers, shallots, and Romano cheese.

        Review:  This variety reminded me of the flavor in antipasto. It had one of the most distinct flavors of all the varieties, but was not overly spicy or zesty.

Granite Gold Review:  I fell in love with my living room furniture in the showroom a year and a half ago. Of course, furniture always looks great until you start using it and then it loses its luster.  Although the stone is rough, it does show dirt easily and since my kids eat at the living room coffee table, it is almost always splattered in some kind of beverage or sauce.  The Granite Gold Daily Cleaner, Sealer, and Polish worked great. The products were easy to use, had a minimal scent, and left my furniture looking as great as is did when we bought it!  I am hoping the Sealer will help keep permanent stains and water marks from developing - at least until I get this furniture paid off! I did not notice a big different between before and post-polish (keeping in mind this is a flat stone as opposed to shiny) but the overall look was great. 

The Granite Gold Grout Cleaner worked great as well.  A brush is included and it it made cleaning the bathroom tile floor - one of my most hated chores, a little easier. It has a citrus scent and did a great job of cleaning the floor and there were no adverse reactions to using it on colored grout.  The brush is quite stiff and I was worried about it scratching the tile but there was not a mark on it when it was done. 

 I have been very pleased with the Granite Gold collection. If you have money invested into your home, then you need to make sure to take care of it so it lasts! These are great products to help you achieve this goal.

PB Crave Review: I was so excited to have the opportunity to review these peanut butters!  They were mailed to me so they were no longer chunky as the added ingredients had melted, but I have always liked creamy peanut butter so I did not mind! 

The Choco Choco Peanut Butter also contains wild honey and sweet & dark chocolate. It is sweet peanut butter but the bitterness of the dark chocolate helps it from being too sweet and the honey and sweet chocolate help it from being bitter. It is a great combination and would taste amazing on a sandwich or with celery. My favorite, however, was pairing it with honey graham crackers. Mmmm! 

The Coco Bananas Peanut Butter has wild honey, chocolate, and natural banana flavor. The banana flavor is very evident and makes for a really nice change from plain old peanut butter. My kids like to eat bananas with their sandwiches so this is a natural flavor combination choice for us. 

Cookie Nookie is another great variety.  Along with peanut butter, there is wild honey, chocolate chips and cookie dough flavor. My immediate thought was that this is going to be my new favorite ice cream topping! Since the texture of the PB Crave peanut butters is creamier than regular peanut butters, you can actually drizzle them on top of foods. As soon as I pick up some ice cream, this will be the first thing I reach for! It has a nice sweet taste and truly does taste like cookie dough! 

The Razzle Dazzle Peanut Butter contains honey, dark chocolate, white cocoa butter drops, and natural raspberry flavor. When I tried this variety I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. It was out of this world! I decided to try to use this one in a dessert. I baked up some boxed brownies and added some Razzle Dazzle Peanut Butter to the top of the batter before putting them into the oven.  The outcome - some seriously amazing brownies!!  I did not tell my family I was adding the Razzle Dazzle to the brownies because I was curious if they would notice and boy did they.  I don't think I have seen a smile so big on my husband's face since our children were born! Seriously, this was one of the easiest ways ever to dress up a boxed brownie mix and I can't wait to try it with the other varieties!

After a few seconds after application, I began to feel the a tingling and cooling sensation. So, did the plumper actually make my lips look bigger? Well, I did not turn into Angelina Jolie (curses!); however, I definitely noticed that my lips looked fuller! Here are my before and after shots:

The color lasted longer than a typical lip gloss but it does come off on cups, food, etc. so you would need to plan on keeping your Envyderm on hand. Plus, since it is available in a variety of shades there is probably the right color out there and it is definitely worth a try.

I'm a Boys & Girls Clubs of America Back to School Ambassador!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

The summer in between my two years of getting my Master's degree in Psychology I decided that I wanted to see whether or not working with children was for me or not and I got a summer job at the local Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA). While I did find out that I would be much better suited working with adults, I did learn a lot about the BGCA's fantastic mission. There were tons of kids who attended the summer programming. There were children from all classes and all neighborhoods. For some, sadly, the BGCA summer program was their only source  of positive socialization and the only place they could go to stay free from their neighborhood drugs and crime. Ever since working there I have been very fond of the organization and appreciate everything they do to make sure that kids can be kids as long as possible!

Review: I really love the combination of flakes and clusters from the original Honey Bunches of Oats cereals so I was really looking forward to the added sweet and tangy flavors. The Greek Honey variety was a sweeter version of the classic and the Greek Mixed Berry gave it more fruity flavor. Since the cereals were mailed to me, the flakes and clusters were broken down into smaller bits than I have had in the classic version, but it was still extremely tasty. I do wish there was more of the Greek Yogurt bits in the cereal, though. The difference in taste between these varieties and classic Honey Bunches of Oats is very slight and I would have liked a more pronounced flavor difference. Regardless, I have really enjoyed both of these varieties and would certainly buy them again.

Orbit for Kids and How to Get Kids to Brush Properly

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Orbit for Kids. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

My kids, especially my daughter, love to chew gum. However, I have not traditionally let them chew gum too often because I am worried that the sugars will rot their teeth and sugar-free gums aren't always appealing in flavor. On top of that, my kids do not always do a good job brushing their teeth. So, I am even more apprehensive about letting them chew sugary gum.  I have tried many tricks over the years to get my kids to brush well and here are my experiences:

• Trusting they are brushing: It took me awhile to realize that sometime when they go in the bathroom to brush their teeth and I envision them brushing exactly as they are told, they are really playing around in the water while holding a toothbrush without any toothpaste in their mouth without actually brushing. Ok, the "trust" method did not really work.
• Doing the parent check: I tried asking my kids to come out after brushing so my husband or I could "check" to see if their teeth were clean and their breath was fresh. While this worked better than the "trust" method, I found that as time went on they spend less and less time brushing. What used to be the full 2-minutes of recommended brushing would turn into a 20 second brushing - followed by kids pouting back into the bathroom to finish brushing. I could totally do without the attitude so I needed to find a new method!
• Using musical toothbrushes/timers: Apparently 2 minutes feels a lot different to a child so I decided that they needed something to help them monitor the amount of time spent brushing. This method worked much better. They stayed in the bathroom the full 2 minutes. However, I realized that my daughter spent more time shaking her tushy to the Justin Beiber toothbrush than actually brushing.
• Brushing with children: We have a small bathroom, but I decided that the only way to make this work was to go to the bathroom with them and not only watch them, but also brush with them. This not only gives me the opportunity to monitor their brushing techniques, but it is also a great way to model proper oral hygiene  Finally, a method that works!!

Orbit has a line of gum just for kids that addresses this concern and also helps promote healthy oral hygiene   Thank goodness for Orbit for Kids! Although we have the tooth brushing routine down, my kids still need to have ways to maintain good oral health during the day.  It is available in Original Bubble Gum and Strawberry Banana and it has the ADA Seal of Approval. The benefits of chewing sugar free gum, such as Orbit for Kids, in between meals include cleaning the mouth of food debris and stimulating saliva flow which helps protect teeth by removing plaque and strengthening teeth.

I am personally a gum chewer because I find the taste leaves the gum very quickly and I cannot stand to chew flavorless gum. We received some Strawberry Banana samples and they were so delicious. Plus, I thought the flavor lasted a nice amount of time so I was not so quick to spit it out.  My daughter not only loved chewing it, she also loved blowing bubbles. Review: I was given a sample of the Mountain Breeze scent to review. The scent is very strong. In fact, I could smell them through the packaging and post office box they arrived in. When I get products for review, I typically store them in one of my back rooms until I am ready to review them and when my husband came home he started looking around because he thought I bought a new candle and was burning it somewhere. When I showed him what he was smelling he commented on how much he loved the scent. I enjoy it too; however, it is strong and I have pretty bad allergies. I had to move the box to my laundry room the next day because the strong scent kept making me sneeze!

The effect of the fragrance on the clothing was much more subtle. The clothes came out of the dryer smelling very fresh and the scent was not overpowering at all (and luckily my clothes did not make me continually sneeze!). The sheets did a great job at reducing static cling. I have been using eco-friendly dryer balls which do a great job with softening clothes but do not take care of static at all. The Purex Fabric Softener Sheets, on the other hand, handled the cling, made my clothes smell great, and they were really soft. What more could you ask for in a dryer sheet?!
