I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel quite a bit as an adult and have been to a lot of great places. However, nothing compares to the love I have for New York City. I visited it twice as a high school student and have been itching to return ever since and next year it will happen! My husband and I will be traveling (sans-kids) to Long Island for my cousin's wedding and figured we will use the opportunity to make it a long weekend and head into the city for a couple of days. Since my husband has never been there, I have to plan carefully so he can get the NYC experience in just a few short day.

More than just a travel guide, the book highlights the physical and cultural landscape of popular New York sites featured in the series. It goes beyond just showing the sites, it is an interactive book that promotes elements of the show as well as must-dos of the city to include, but not limited to:

• Step into Cafe' Grumpy and learn how to make a French press coffee the way Ray and Hannah would
• Go behind scenes at Greenhouse, where Hannah and Elijah dance to the beats of iPad DJ Andrew Andre
• Recreate Jessa and Thomas-John's Foundry wedding cake with buttercream icing made from the local NYC rooftop honey

Review: This book is really very unique. Sadly, I have not seen the series, Girls, but I really want to after reading this book! Even though I was not able to relate the elements of the book with the show, I loved it nonetheless as a really great travel guide and an inspiration for my next trip. Of course we want to see the landmarks of the city, but this book also makes me want to visit some of the restaurants and stores featured. There are 21 illustrated maps which should make finding the different places featured a cinch. The book also contains over 100 beautiful photos that highlight the beauty of the city as well as 20 recipes featured on the show! This is definitely a must-have for Girls fans!
