Every year I notice that my kids get more and more expensive when it comes to holiday shopping. Well, perhaps it is not my kids so much as the toys, games, and electronics that appeal to them as they get older. I am very grateful for places like Target that offer a wide selection of gift ideas along with low prices/sales that make it easier for me to get my kids more items off their wishlist.
Excited to have the opportunity to features some great gift ideas, I rounded up my family and asked for them to help me make some recommendations for all of you. After all, no one is better at determining what kids want than kids! Here is what my 10-year-old son, Jack, and 8-year-old daughter, Bella, recommend from Target this holiday season
Bella's Pick for Girls: Our Generation
Although it was difficult to narrow down her recommendation, she decided that you should check out their line of Our Generation dolls and accessories. Quite frankly, they look just as adorable as that other brand of incredibly expensive dolls (you know that ones I am talking about) but their products are much more affordable. We did invest one of those darn expensive dolls a year ago but I refuse to buy from their line of clothing. After all, I am not going to pay more for doll clothes than I spend on my own wardrobe! We have purchased many outfits and doll accessories from the Our Generation line in the past and have always been very satisfied. They fit her doll perfectly and we can typically buy twice as much than we would have been able to purchase if we would have purchased from the other brand.
Jacks' Pick for Boys Toys: Xbox Games
Probably no surprise here, but my son would recommend video games. Target has a great selection to choose from and has a couple of interactive displays so you can try out various games and gaming systems. The prices were better at Target than at our local electronics store and I found their set up to be much more conducive to browsing.
My Pick for Boys and Girls: Board Games
After the holidays are over, we will be resuming our weekly family game night. We have over two bookshelves full of board games and we can't get enough of them! They are a great way to spend quality time with the kids and we always have tons of fun. Target's selection is great and I saw some games that I would love to own - hello Big Bang Theory: Ultimate Genius!
