FREE CPR Refresher Program

Thanks to ACLS National for partnering with me to promote CPR knowledge and awareness.  

When I was about 6 years old my father was putting me to bed and decided to tickle me not knowing that I had just put a vitamin in my mouth. The laughter caused me to choke on the vitamin and my dad had to administer the Heimlich maneuver on me. I was certainly glad that my dad was a fireman and was used to saving people on a daily basis. As I have gotten older, I have realized that I may someday need to perform a life saving strategy on my family and it has been a very LONG time since I practiced rescue breathing and chest compressions on a Rescue Annie doll...16 years to be exact. 

Did you know:

• Over 70% of Americans feel they are not properly prepared to handle an emergency and life threatening situation such as choking, cardiac arrest, or loss of breathing
• Nearly 90% of the 380,000 cardiac related deaths happened in the home

I have always come up with excuses for not taking a refresher course but I won't make any excuses anymore thanks to ACLS National's FREE CPR campaign!
