Good Morning America weekly contributor Tory Johnson spent decades failing at every fad diet, convinced she would always be fat.  She blamed her childhood...her genes...even junk food.  She was resigned to being plus-sized even though she secretly longed for something different. A single conversation 18 months ago put an end to that. Tory was told by one of her bosses at ABC that her clothes didn't do her justice and she wanted to send Tory to a stylist.

Even though the words “fat” and “lose weight” were never used -- nor was she threatened in any way -- Tory took away: lose weight or lose your job.  In a flash, she realized she had to change for good and she was ready to do it.  In the course of one year, Tory lost more than 60 pounds and  discovered that what she put in her head matters more than what she put in her mouth, and in the process, she became a happier, healthier person.

With her all-new book published by Hyperion on September 10, The Shift: How I Finally Lost Weight & Discovered a Happier Life, Tory is on a mission to help others change, too. The lessons she learned apply to anyone who feels stuck or stalled in tackling a big change in health, career or relationships.  She's proof that the future can look a whole lot different—and brighter—than the past.  Tory believes the time is now to make it happen.

Shift Kit Review: I was lucky enough to receive a "Shift Kit" curated by Tory with a selection of products designed to motivate and pamper in a healthy way. The kit contained the following amazing assortment:

Angie's Popcorn: contains nothing but ingredients you'll love: popcorn, sunflower oil, and sea salt
Colonial Candle: Enjoy a spa moment anywhere, anytime with this fresh scent travel candle
Crest 3D White: Whitening toothpaste that removes 90% of surface stains in 5 days
Eboost: Natural supplement to boost energy, focus, hydration, and mood
Emi-Jay: Handmade hair ties that don't dent your hair and double as a fun bracelet
Food Should Taste Good: All natural, gluten-free multigrain tortilla chips in a variety of flavors
Glee Gum: Natural, sugar-free gum sweetened with 100% xylitol
Go Smile: Convenient, reusable pen to maintain a beautiful smile on-the-go
GoSwype: Reusable microfiber cleaning cloths for touch screen devices
Hail Merry: Decadent dessert snack that's the perfect guilt-free treat, especially the choco macaroons
Healthy Cooking Camp: Completely virtual learn-to-cook web-based program to help you prepare healthy meals
Kind Healthy Snacks:  Healthy and tasty on-the-go treats with only 5g of sugar
LifeTherapy: Positive note cards to help you organize your thoughts or to send to a friend
Lulu Dharma: Handmade, leather and semi-precious gemstone bracelets
May Designs: Eco-friendly canvas notebooks with customizable covers and insides
Quest Nutrition: Bars designed for those who care about good nutrition and a healthy body
Rume: Durable poyester, machine washable totes that hold up to 50 pounds
Somersault Snacks: Healthy sunflower seed snacks with less than 150 calories per serving
SweetRiot: "Peaces" of cacao dunked in intense, yummy, premium dark chocolate
Zipzicles: The only zip-top ice-pop mold to create your own healthy frozen treats

I loved the great assortment of products in this kit. It was a nice reminder that you can still treat yourself and even pamper yourself without immediately reaching for junk food. There was a nice selection of healthy snack options - something I have been on the lookout for so I am glad I was introduced to some great products. I loved the Food Should Taste Good chips which were the perfect substitute for potato chips and the SweetRiot were so delicious! The best part of the package was actually  the "Shift with Tory: Change your Mind for a Better Life" daily journal. Each day of the journal has a food log, allows you to record your thoughts, weight, milestones, and even water intake. I will be trying out a diet for this blog later this month and I think that this will be a great way to keep me motivated.

Buy it here:  You can purchase the kit from IndieBound, Barnes & Nobles, and  Amazon.

*I was provided with the above mentioned products for the purpose of facilitating this review. All opinions expressed are my own.
