Good Cook Nonstick Cutlery Review, Promo Code, and Giveaway ($125 value)!
Posted on 17:22 by Unknown
For some, cooking can be exciting. For me, unless I am trying a new recipe or using a new tool, I get bored easily. When I learned about the Good Cook Nonstick Cutlery that come in a variety of bright colors, I knew this would help me get excited about cooking.
Their bright coding signals a different use: purple is for sandwiches, green is for paring, red is utility knife, yellow is for bread, orange is a santoku, and blue is a chef knife. The serrated blades are crafted from high-carbon steel, which stays sharp through regular use. The nonstick coating prevents crumbs from sticking. Each knife includes a safety sheath to protect the blade and allow for safe storage. The soft-grip, ergonomic handle fits comfortably in the hand and provides better control when slicing and when hands are wet.
Review: The challenge I was given was to make a favorite recipe using the knives. I decided on Taco Pie which would involve not only chopping up tomatoes but also slicing through a very thick and tough crust. I have had my knife set for almost 7 years and it was not exactly a good set when I bought it so you can imagine how poorly the knives function that many years later.
I loved the bright colors to the knives though they did, unfortunately, also attract my children so I had to have a long talk with them about not using these knives. They have been helping me cook for a couple of years and I let them use the old knives (under close supervision) so I had to explain that these were far too sharp for them to use. My old knives were on a butcher's block so I would have really preferred these to be able to be contained in something similar but I am getting used to putting the covers on and keeping them in a drawer. Each knife really works well and I was thrilled with how easily I was able to cut produce and also through thicker, more difficult food such as raw chicken. They were really easy to hold thanks to the design and they truly were non-stick. The knife I use most often is the sandwich knife. It is perfect for cutting just about anything you want to put on your bread, is nice and wide to neatly and quickly spread a condiment, and then slices perfectly through the bread without having the crumbs stick to the serrated edge. I use it almost daily!
My only wish (aside from a butcher's block) was that each was labeled...it is hard for me to remember the color scheme. Other than that and my desire for a holder, I would definitely recommend these amazing knives.
