Fels-Naptha Review and Giveaway! 3 Winners!

It used to be that I would go shopping for my daughter's new wardrobe because she was in a new size. Now, she is outside most of the day with the neighborhood friends and when she comes in, she is filthy from head to time. As a result, I have to replace clothes constantly because she hardly has any stain-free items. I am always looking for better Laundry products and was excited to learn about the Purex Fels-Naptha bar. 

Removing stains is easy with the Fels-Naptha laundry bar and stain remover. Simply rub the stain with a wet bar of Purex Fels-Naptha and wait a couple of minutes. Then wash your clothes as you normally would. I had never tried a stain remover bar before so I was really interested in seeing how it works!

Review: We went to Boston on a family vacation for a week and we certainly came back with our fair share of stains - mostly food stains since dieting is not allowed while we are on vacation (come on, I know I am not the only one who lives by this rule). I packed three new shirts for my daughter and brought back a bunch of stained clothes.  So, I ripped open the Fels-Naptha bar, wet it, and rubbed the stain remover over the soiled clothes.  You can see some of the stains in the center of the shirt below. 

It was a little strange using a bar, but I was willing to try just about anything aside from buying my daughter even more clothes for her to ruin! I washed the clothes as I normally would (with Purex detergent, of course).  Here is how her shirt that had chocolate ice cream stains from three days prior looked after washing:

The stain looked MUCH better, but there were still some remnants of the stain. They did not resemble the same brown color as the ice cream, but there were some darker spots that it did not fully clean (it is difficult to see in the picture). I am not giving up though...I am going to try to experiment some more with the bar. I was not sure how much to apply so I am going to try to apply thicker next time and perhaps use a detergent enhancer. It is definitely better than using nothing and it is a very inexpensive alternative to other stain remover products on the market.
