Now that we have tackled the whole “how will the kids do on an airplane” thing, we can finally get out of our tristate area for vacations. This year we went to Boston and it was wonderful! The only problem my kids and my husband had when we flew to Disney World last year was extreme ear pressure. It actually was so bad that both of my kids grew tearful! Air travel can cause ear pain in discomfort – clogging, popping, pressure (and the resulting temporary hearing loss) – particularly in young children. Our bodies can have trouble equalizing the air pressure difference between the plane’s cabin atmosphere and the inner ear – a condition that is experienced by about 25% of all air travelers.
EarPlanes are the #1 earplug recommended for air travelers. They have a unique design that provides protection from ear pain and discomfort during flight. Recommended by doctors, flight attendants, and having received the Good Housekeeping Seal, EarPlanes are made of soft, hypoallergenic latex-free silicone for a comfortable fit. The unique and exclusive CeramX filter inside of the EarPlanes ear plug regulates air pressure naturally. Yet, even airline flight safety announcement can still be heard (and headsets worn for music and movies) by users. Plus, they are available for both children and adults!
Review: My kids and husband had the opportunity to try the EarPlanes out last week. We did have a problem on the way to Boston which we were able to correct on the way back. My husband somehow shoved his EarPlane in too far and ended up getting it stuck in his ear. He was in extreme pain because it was actually putting pressure on his ear drum. It took us almost 10 minutes to dig it out and his ear hurt him for about an hour afterwards. He was a bit more careful on the way back from Boston and did say that they prevented the ear pressure completely. My kids had an easier time; however, the shape of the plugs makes it so you can't wear earbuds. Since we had free TV on the plane, they would only wear the EarPlanes during take off. Even with the limited wear, they were still able to avoid the ear pressure that plagued them during our Walt Disney trip. I love that they come with a little plastic carrying case which makes it easy to store them later.
